If you need an estimate or just have a question, we’re here to help.
We could not pride ourselves on getting the job done right the first time if we didn’t emphasize our abilities as an excavation contractor. Excavation and site preparation, or a lack thereof, is what makes or breaks a concrete company. Our excavation services utilize both full size and mini excavators to get in tight spots, such as inside your garage, so that we can complete your project no matter how difficult.
The Foundation of Quality Concrete Work
Concrete can last the lifetime of your home, whether it be the floors inside the home, or your sidewalks, patio, or pool surrounds, but the key to it’s longevity is proper site preparation which starts with excavation..
The death to all concrete is heaving, and due to the composition of the soil in our area, this is a very real issue. Our soil contains a lot of clay, clay which expands and contracts through its absorption of water, as well the freezing and thawing that affects all soils.
All concrete will crack, and that is why we use control joints, but not having proper ground preparation will cause the concrete to not just crack but rise up, become unlevel, form large cracks, and ultimately deteriorate. For this reason, before concrete forms can be made or the pour can start, the soft top layer of the ground has to be removed. We then dig down another 6 inches, and fill the void with crushed stone. This stone is then compressed with a vibratory plate compactor.
With this process taken care of you can have the assurance of knowing your concrete will not sink and heave, and look great for the lifetime of your home.
